Service Description

Udad (lentil gram) flour is mixed with water and made into a dough ring to be fitted to the neck (greeva), lower back (kati), or knee (janu). The dough ring serves as a basin for heated Mahanarayana oil to be carefully hand-poured and collected into. This procedure is best for conditions that are too fragile to be directly interfered with, manipulated, or touched with pressure. Treatment is done in a heated room for maximum comfort. Benefits: Reduces pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints & muscles of the neck, lower back, or knee; alleviates difficulty in movement in conditions such as osteoarthritis, herniations, bulged discs, disc prolapse, hairline fracture, and muscle spasms.

  • What's the appropriate attire when getting a treatment?
Comfortable, loose clothing is recommended for any treatment. You may have a minimal amount of oil, herbs, or sweat on your skin/hair post-treatment, so it is better to wear clothes that are more casual or easy to wash. Partial clothing removal is required for some treatments, but underwear is always a requirement. A pair of disposable underwear will be provided to you in the case that you need or prefer it.
  • Where do you offer Yoga?
I offer private Yoga lessons (which include meditation and breathwork) at the treatment room. The room is only big enough for 1-2 clients, so if you are interested in a private group session, we can plan accordingly. I offer open Yoga sessions at the local park during the warmer seasons, and I also offer donation-based Yoga at Hairbend the Salon (Located on Lancaster Boulevard) on Monday evenings 5:30-6:30pm.
  • How do I know which treatment is right for me?
You can always reach out via phone, text, email, or Instagram to inquire about which treatment or practice is best for you. You can read the descriptions/benefits of each service to see if it's a good fit for you, or we can do an in-depth Wellness Consultation to get you an entire recommended treatment plan.
  • Do you do massages/deep tissue massage?
I offer traditional Abhyanga, which is quite similar yet uniquely different from a typical massage. It involves the application of warm herbal oil, in a patterned, uniform manner with light to moderate pressure. Deep tissue massage is not within the scope of my practice.
